Jameson Short Film Award Commission
Jameson Short Film Awards, one of the most significant in the world of short film, have brought to light a vibrant and dynamic group of artists in film throughout Europe. The European Coordination of Film Festivals and Jameson commissioned Mr. O'Dwyer to create the award which is presented at 12 European film festivals in 2003. The sculpture was inspired by the movement of light through time using the reflective qualities of hand polished Irish silver. The textured Kilkenny limestone base creates a dramatic contrast to the dynamic dash of hand wrought silver that floats above it. These materials become natural partners in the award, and complement each other, while the overall piece portrays the expression of the artists creativity in a meaningful and contemporary way. The trophy is a true reflection of the success that each winner of a Jameson Short Film Award has earned. Further information on the award and film festivals can be found at www.jameson.ie
